summer jobs
Right now I have a decently-paying job and I could work it full-time over the summer, but it’s very simple and it doesn’t apply to computer science at all. I don’t want to be completely bored all summer.
So I’m wondering if, after finishing my first year of my computer science degree, I would be prepared to get some kind of summer job in programming or something that applies to my studies at all? Or is it still too early in my degree?
After my second semester I worked in software development aswell. It was pretty hard at first since there was a load of technologies to learn about and I didn’t have a clue at all (new languages, new framework..) but you’ll get used to it. I learned a lot during the holidays. It was defenitely worth it. You earn decent money and (what’s way more important) gather a lot of experience - that’s priceless :)
